July 9, 2008 Monument Circle Indianapolis, Indiana from 11:30a.m.-2:00p.m. The general public is outraged when they learn the truth about puppy mills. It's time to take action ! Indiana currently has no laws regulating the conditions of puppy mills. As a result, our state has one of the highest numbers of puppy mills in the country. Thousands of puppy mill dogs are forced to live their entire lives in tiny, wire cages with no exercise. They are malnourished, dehydrated, Living in extreme hot and cold conditions, and they get no medical care. For the first time, animal rescue groups, animal rights groups and concerned citizens from across the state are gathering in one spot to let Indiana know that we will no longer sit idly by and allow puppy mill dogs to suffer, and sometimes die, from neglect and abuse.
Our guest speaker for this event is jana Kohl, author of "A Rare Breed of Love: The True Story of baby and the Mission She Inspired to help Dogs Everywhere." Jana is attracting national attention while speaking out against PUPPY MILLS on her summer book tour. Its exciting that she has chosen Indianapolis for a stop on the tour. She has appeared on Good Morning America and in People Magazine. To learn more about her tour and her book, visit
