Van Halen are back on Tuesday with “A Different Kind Of Truth,” their first new music with David Lee Roth in 16 years and first full album with him in 28.

The band has released a new clip of Roth interviewing the Van Halen brothers in the studio.

The guys talk at length about their family roots, including how their father, Jan Van Halen, met their mother, Eugenia.

“Our pop went over to Indonesia on a 6-week radio contract,” explains Alex, “which turned into 6 years. He loved the tropics, he couldn’t get enough. They got married and then the government became destabilized and they threw all the colonialists out.”

“Indonesia was a Dutch province at the time,” adds Eddie.
