Steele was also the first ever woman to be hired at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a public address announcer for the Indy 500, NASCAR and MotoGP. She was also named Columbia College Chicago Alumni of the Year in 2010 and still returns to her Alma Mater to talk to students in the radio department.
