Sammy Hagar was the Honorary Grand Marshal at last Saturday's 100th annual Fontana Days Parade, and the town also named a street in his honor. He had a great time as he writes on his website, "Nothing is as gratifying as being honored in your hometown. For me it's right up there with Van Halen being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Having a street named after you (Hagar Way) -- come on! Fontana has changed so much since 1970 when I left. If you would have blindfolded me, brought me there and showed me around I would not have known where I was. For real. 14,000 was the population then and 200,000 today -- damn! Hagar's brother Bob still lives in the area.
